2003 Victoria Chardonnay
Tasting Notes
The Greg Norman Estates Chardonnay 2003 is a soft wheat yellow color in the glass, while fragrant aromas of nectarine, peach and melon fill the nose. These aromas develop on the palate and lead into a crisp natural acidity, creamy mouthfeel and a long, elegant finish.
Grape Source
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Yarra Valley in the Victoria region, one of the most exciting areas for Chardonnay in Australia. The growing season in 2003 was warm and dry, producing a good yield of rich, ripe fruit.
Vinification
Partial barrel fermentation combined with secondary malolactic fermentation produced a wine with creamy texture and fresh citrus flavors. These flavors were further developed through nine months of aging in French and American oak.
